Dusting my Google Account
I got an email! I'm allegedly "using Gemini" now.
This probably has something to do with that popup in Google Maps. However, neither Maps nor the web-based Google Account Manager have a button to turn it back off. The best I could do is turn off my (still empty) Gemini history, and then delete the Google Maps app from my phone.
To make the adventure extra exciting, "Chrome" was syncing (1 hour ago). I do not use this browser. As with Gemini, there is no button on the Web side to manage, or even view, what is performing the sync. Because of course everyone uses Chrome, right? My only recourse was to change the password.
Finally, I deleted the expired payment card from my wallet, since I don't need to pay for Google Domains (RIP) anymore.
ETA (7/15): I got another email that I'm "using Gemini on the web" now. ??? Maybe I should consider migrating my tech blog over from Blogger to Bear?
